Brick Street Art WalkBrick Street Art Walk
Friday, June 24, 2011   6pm -10pm
Sponsored by the Zionsville Arts Initiative

A ten year tradition in Zionsville expands its footprint along the historic brick street.  Friday, June 24 from 6pm – 10pm. The Zionsville Arts Initiative is proud to host this annual premier art event.  Over 75 individual artists PLUS the gallery artists, live music, and food adds up to “Summer fun in the village of Zionsville”.

The Brick Street Art Walk will feature artists demonstrating watercolors, pastels, photography, pottery, glass blowing, woodcarving, botanical arts, jewelry, and needlework. Watch a caricaturist, interact with art students from Zionsville High School as they create small canvas paintings, visit with local book authors and listen to poetry readings by The Village Poets.

Throughout the evening, participating artists at the Brick Street Art Walk will paint a large canvas as they add their distinctive touch to this one of a kind collaborative masterpiece.  The painting will be on display throughout the summer at various locations in the village of Zionsville and will be auctioned off at the Zionsville Arts Initiative fundraising event in the fall of 2011.

A community canvas for our ‘art walk patrons’ and ‘emerging artists’ will also be available.  Bring a paintbrush and leave your artistic mark at this year’s Art Walk.

Musical performances during the evening include: “Fiddlesticks” a musical group from the Lebanon Arts Council performing at 6:30pm.  Sharon O’Connell creating beautiful acoustics on the hammered dulcimer and flute, Don Larson with his classical guitar melodies, Alex Young with the Brick Street Quartet and Corey Mills and his rockin’ band.

Listen to music, shop, dine, view and purchase original art created by artists working in various media.  Merchants, galleries and restaurants are all open to join in this celebration and support of the arts in Zionsville. Free admission.  Free parking.

Saturday, December 3  10am – 8pm
Robert Goodman Jewelers

A self taught designer, Alberto Parada draws inspiration from the simplistic natural beauty and bounty of his native South America.  His work speaks of a quiet boldness in the delicate composition of architectural form, space and color.  These elements successfully combine to create a statement piece that can be as bold or as subtle as the owner's own style reveals.

Edna Gray creates wearable pieces of art from the precious elements from around the world.  Edna is a designer/artisan whom Rose-Marie and Bob met through a mutual friend.  After spending two delightful hours with Edna it was clear to Rose-Marie that it would be a mistake not to represent her collections.  Stop by and meet this exciting new designer, Edna Gray on December 3 from noon – 8pm.
